Midland Area British Schools Regional Championships

This is a level 2 Development event for Academic Years 4 & 5, 6 & 7 and a Level 3 Development event for Academic Years 8 to 13 and, in line with the entry criteria for the 2019 British Schools National Championships.

Tyne and Wear Dan Grading

The Dan Grades system is a distinctive feature of judo with promotion to different ranks based on a variety of different pathways and achievements. The Dan Grade system is aimed judoka who are 15 years of age and older who have moved on from completing the Kyu Grades system. Obtaining a Dan Grade is one of the highest qualifications available to individuals involved in the sport of judo.

Multi grading – Yorkshire & Humberside Area

An area multi-grading to give competitors as many opportunities as possible to gain points. Where possible we will run this to allow people to enter more than one grading on the day, eg may run masters/youth in the morning, then the regular grading in the afternoon.

North of England Pre cadet and cadet Championships

North of England championships is a junior and senior ranking event. The British Senior Ranking system operates in line with the IJF Competition format. Ranking points are given for Area and Home Country Open Championships, the British Open and International Championships. The top eight placings at each event are awarded points (as long as at least one contest is won) and the top three results contribute to placing on the British Ranking List. After the Welsh Open each year, the top sixteen ranked players from British Ranking List are invited to the British Championships, with Wild Cards assigned, where appropriate, by World Class Performance Programme.

The GB Senior Squad will be selected from the results from the British Championships in December.

Eastern Area British masters Championships

Masters Judo is specifically for those over 30 years of age and over. It involves training, competitions and events specifically aimed at this sector of judoka. The masters squad compete in a range of events, including the Commonwealth championships.

Nage-No-Kata course

British Judo Certified Nage No Kata course delivered by 7th Dan Steve Pullen held at Cheadle. A great opportunity to develop technical understanding of the self defence nature of judo. Fee £20:00. Lifetime certificate available upon successful completion.

Summer Club Trip 2014

Stay over residential at Low Bank Ground, The Lake District. We will be rock climbing, kayaking, eating tea around camp fires and much more.
